Basil Rodriques is currently UNICEF’s Regional Adviser, Health Systems & Policy for the CEE/CIS region, based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Basil is a long-serving staff member of UNICEF of over 34 years and has served in numerous capacities, including Advisory roles in Primary Health Care covering Africa & Asia.
In the early nineties he covered Nutrition in South Asia and thereafter, Health & Immunization in China and as regional adviser for Asia/Pacific in Immunization, Maternal and Child Health. He also served as Senior Adviser for Emerging Infectious Diseases, based in NY.
Isabel de la Mata has been Principal Adviser for health in the European Commission since March 2008. Recently her functions were upgraded to Principal Adviser for Health and Crisis management.
